USF Hosts International Endodontics Symposium: Connecting Global Perspectives in Dental Science

On June 7th, at the Bragança Paulista campus of University of San Francisco (USF), the International Endodontics Symposium took place with the theme “connecting and getting to know endodontics practiced around the world”. The event was organized by the Academic Endodontics League, presided by the student Manuela Longo and coordinated by Professor Miguel Haddad

At the event opening ceremony, speeches were given by Frei Vitório Mazzuco (University Chaplaincy), Prof. Dr. Rogerio Kairalla (President of the Regional Concil of Dentistry of São Paulo – CROSP), Dr. Silvio J. Ceccheto (President of the Brazillian Association of Dental Surgeons – ABCD), Dr. Wilson Chedjek (President of the Central São Paulo Association of Dental Surgeons – APCD), Prof. Dr. Celso Caldeira (President of the Brazillian Society of Endodontics – SBENDO and Full Professor of Endodontics at the Dentistry School of  University of São Paulo – FOUSP), Dr. Hugo Muñoz (President of the Latin American Endodontics Society  - SELA), Prof. Dr. Alessandra Pereira de Andrade (Coordinator of the Dentistry School – USF), Prof. Dr. Giulio Gavini (Director of the School of Dentistry at the University of São Paulo – FOUSP and Full Professor of Endodontics), Prof. Dr. Antonio Miranda da Cruz Filho (Professor of Endodontics at the School of Dentistry of Ribeirão Preto – FORP/USP and member of the Endodontics Chamber of CROSP), Prof. Dr. Renato Leonardo (Professor of Endodontics at the School of Dentistry of Araraquara – FOAr/UNESP and member of the Endodontics Chamber of CROSP), Prof. Dr. Luciano Natividade Cardoso (Coordinator of the Dentistry School and Full professor of Endodontics at Metodista University and member of the Endodontics Chamber of CROSP),  Prof. Dr. Marcelo Santos (Professor of Endodontics at FOUSP, Full Professor os Endodontics at the School of Dentistry of Hospital Albert Einstein and member of the Endodontics Chamber of CROSP), journalist Magdalena Bonfiglioli (SBT), Prof. Dr. Miguel Haddad (Coordinator of the Academic Endodontics League – USF, Regional Delegate and President of the Endodontics Chamber of CROSP) and student Renata Bulhões (USF Endodontics League)

The symposium occurred from 8.30am to 7:00pm and included five lectures referring to the contemporary scientific thought in endodontics and related specialties, in addition, to two hands-on workshops also happened. The event featured 12 speakers affiliated with prestigious institutions such as the University of Illinois – Chicago (USA), Universidad Nacional de La Plata (Argentina), University of São Paulo (Brazil), University of Porto (Portugal), Complutense University of Madrid (Spain), Tel Aviv University (Israel), University of Amsterdam (Netherlads), University of Guadalajara (Mexico), and, of course, Professors from University San Francisco (Brazil).

At the end, the event’s organizing committee, in partnership with the university’s athletics association, hosted a delightful social gathering to celebrate the symposium success.
